If you are blessed with beautiful dark skin, let your sweet cheeks sing! With the depth of your tone, you are able to carry a lot of color. For a warm weather vibe, play with a bold red blush, a. Choose the right brush to apply your blush. While brush quality is an important factor, the shape and type of brush matters the most. Try using a fan brush or a contouring/angled brush for the most precise results. Blush should be applied mainly to the highest part of your cheeks and extend just out to the temples. I'm looking to buy a blush that is both matte/not too shimmery and shows up on my skintone. Most blushes are either too light or too pinky so I'm thinking something very pigmented and maybe in the peach/coral color range. Here are five blushes worth considering for darker skin tones! Again, this is a short and sweet list but is by no means exhaustive; I tried to include a variety of colors, finishes, and undertones, but just because you don’t see a blush listed here doesn’t mean it wouldn’t work ? I’d love to hear your personal favorites for dark skin tones in the comments!
Trying to find the best blush for your skin tone can be challenging. A girl can run into a lot of trouble trying to pick out the most flattering shade of blush when each makeup brand has an entire spectrum to choose from. And that’s just the pinks. Never mind the corals, peaches, roses, nudes, plums, mauves, and cinnamons that abound, just to name a few!
Every woman's skin tone varies slightly throughout the year, thanks to factors like sun exposure (and don't even get me started about aging). It's important to remember that just because pale pink powder blush was perfect in your teens, you won't look even more fabulous in a bronzed coral in your late twenties. Regardless of the season, or how many birthdays you've had, blush is always an important makeup tool to have in your repertoire. Blush brings out your inner glow, evens skin tone, highlights cheekbones, and helps give your face definition. Most importantly, it's fun to wear.

Dark Skin Tone
If you are blessed with beautiful dark skin, let your sweet cheeks sing! With the depth of your tone, you are able to carry a lot of color. For a warm weather vibe, play with a bold red blush, a mid-range orange, or deep pink. For a more contoured, less made-up look, try a cinnamon or deep bronze tone. Pro tip: Blend your blush well to avoid doll-like pops of color, and steer clear of pastels.

Medium Dark Skin Tone
Women with medium skin can amp up the color. Think rich raspberry rouge, colorful coral, or a pretty poppy. A bronzer, such as the one Kerry Washington is rocking above, looks magnificent in a mid-range brown tone or a darker gold hue. Don't be afraid of a little gold shimmer! The tone will make your skin glow. Avoid silver-toned glitter in your blush.

Medium Skin Tone
Lovely ladies with a warm olive skin tone have a world of color at their finger tips. For a subtle look like Eva is rocking above, a peach and bronzer duo will create a soft glow while contouring killer cheekbones. Fair or medium skin with warm undertones looks ravishing with apricot shades. Based on how pale or dark your tone is, seek out a more golden or deep sun-kissed variety. Fair Skin Tone
If you're blessed with pretty pale skin, choose a soft blush that won't overpower your delicate coloring. A classic pink blush is always a winner for women with fair skin. Before buying a new blush, step outside wearing the product and look in a mirror (or your smartphone camera). Store lights are either brutal fluorescents or soap opera-style lighting that's hard to find in daily life. A step out into reality will help you come away with the right color for you.

Spring is finally here so its time to put away the dark lips and the 'lived-in' eyeliner looks and embrace brighter makeup and barely-there base. I spent my Saturday afternoon at the MAC counter in Selfridges, a happy place where I can always find makeup for my skin tone, testing out some new and staple products that I deem 'must haves' for my makeup bag this season. Here they are, and why:
1.Viva Glam Miley Cyrus Lipstick:
Ever since their very first Viva Glam campaign in 1994 featuring drag queen RuPaul as the brand ambassador, I have loved these limited edition lipstick collaborations and the Miley Cyrus campaign is no exception. Her new shade is a super-sexy hot pink hue. Nothing signals spring more than a bright fun lipstick and this looks great on my skin tone.
2. Prep + Prime BB Beauty Balm:
Love the barely-there makeup look? If you seek to have a sheer coverage yet want a tint of colour on your face, this BB cream is the product for you. Containing SPF35, it's perfect for use on its own. This leaves a dewy finish, even when worn under foundation.
3. Mineralize Skinfinish in Gold Deposit:
This powder highlighter for face and body will leave you shimmering from head to toe. When used properly it gives the face a nice glow where the lights hit, but be careful to go heavy-handed and look like you're covered in dusty sparkly glitter. I recommend it to anyone looking for a nice glow.
4. Studio Finish Concealer Duo:
Lightweight, creamy, discreetly opaque concealer which provides smooth, long-wearing invisible coverage for all skin imperfections. Say goodbye to the winter dark circles with coverage using this concealer duo – there are shades for every dark complexion.
5. Cremeblend Blusher:
This colour glides on smoothly, adding brightness to the face, and is long lasting. I enjoy blending in this product with my fingers.
6. Prep + Prime Fix +:
This finishing mist rejuvenates the skin and keeps your makeup looking dewy. Spritz on once you have finished your face if your makeup looks too powdery.
7. Eye Brows in Spiked:
Now I am bald, the eyebrow pencil shade Spiked is my favourite tool as it helps clearly define my face by adding shape and colour to my brows as well as arching. This pencil is perfect for filling in both bushy and non-existent eyebrows.
8. Prep + Prime Transparent Finishing Powder:
